چکیده

In a previous paper (Stevens & Randall, 1967) changes in blood pressure, heart rate and breathing rate during activity were reported. Interpretation of these results as to the physiological significance of such changes can be expanded with a knowledge of any concurrent changes in gas concentrations in blood and water afferent and efferent to the gills. Recent technical developments permitting gas analysis on small quantities of blood, associated with the development of suitable handling and cannulation techniques (Holeton & Randall, 1967 a, b), allow measurement of blood-gas concentrations in unanaesthetized, unrestrained, intact fish. The object of this study was to measure changes in gas concentrations in blood and water afferent and efferent to the gills of rainbow trout before, during, and after moderate swimming activity.

Effects of different concentration pollen on biochemical-hematological changes and paraoxanase activity in Rainbow trout

Bee-collected pollen (bee pollen) is reported as a health food with a vast range of nutritional and therapeutic effects. Biochemical and hematological parameters in blood of rainbow trout treated to various concentrations of pollen (0.5, 2.5, 5, 10, 20 and 30 ppm) for 96 h were determined. The levels of total protein, creatinine, chloride and sodium in fish which exposed to different concentrat...

Changes in Blood Pressure, Heart Rate and Breathing Rate during Moderate Swimming Activity in Rainbow Trout

There is a paucity of data concerning the changes in circulation occurring during swimming in fish. Data reported in the literature have been obtained from either restrained, anaesthetized or operated fish (Greene, 1904; Hart, 1945; Johansen, 1962; Robertson et al. 1966). Such procedures can have marked effects on fish (Fry, 1957). It is therefore surprising that little attention has been direc...

Investigation of changes in biochemical and blood parameters of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) for breeding in saline water

Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the compatibility of rainbow trout fish with biochemical and blood parameters in waters with a salinity range of 0-20 gram per liter order to allow the introduction and development of this species in different aquatic environments with different salinity levels. Baby fish from a cold water factory in Mazandaran province were transported to t...
